Mountain Retreat, Squamish

The hotel was a convenient stop off close to the highway but surprisingly quiet. The rooms were very clean and comfortable; however, we ended up with a double instead of a king bed. Although the service was rude and seemed inconvenienced, the location was ideal for exploring between Vancouver and Whistler with easy access to popular sites. The dining options were limited and impractical for late-night needs, but nearby amenities were handy.

The hotel is conveniently located near downtown and Whistler, offering a pool and easy access to hikes, but it is situated in an industrial area. The rooms are clean with convenient amenities like a fridge and microwave, although the location lacks walkability. The service is a mix of rudeness and politeness with informative staff, while the location is a great base for outdoor activities but lacks nearby facilities on foot. The dining options vary from unexpected wake-up calls to proximity to fast-food joints. The property requires upkeep, and the surroundings are not ideal for leisure strolls.

However, there was a lingering smell of smoke in the room. The location was convenient, within walking distance of restaurants and shops, perfect for our needs, despite being in a strange industrial area. The dining experience was outstanding, available with the price of the room and attached to a restaurant. The facilities were modern and well-kept.
